Hi! I'm the newest member, and new at modding/creating/destroying content for Oblivion. So I'm considering what to do about software cause 3ds max is bloody expensive and I've read about Blender, and there are very different opinions about it (Blender). Does anybody here have an opinion about Blender? Used it in the past? Use it now? Its merits compared to other commercial offerings (besides being free)? Any options I might consider that are better but not nearly as expensive as max??? I thank you for your input

I've never used it either but it looks like its the way to go with Oblivion modelling since Bethsoft are not supporting the mod community this time round. God alone knows what level of short-sightedness it took to not forsee the exporter/Havok problems but there you go.. and now the dev team is deaf and blind to any questions and/or requests that are sent, no matter how polite they are. They seemingly couldn't give a flying fart for supporting the mod community now, particularly since they are making a tidy profit on their pathetic buyable content and X-Box sales are soaring. I never thought I'd say this myself but a string of ignored messages and a yawning chasm where the info should be has left me somewhat despondant of ever regaining the unique relationship modders used to have with the company.

When choosing a Java programmer, like any other IT specialist, you need to take into account the specifics of this area. IT specialists may initially seem uncommunicative, extremely pragmatic and arrogant in contrast to candidates with a different specialization, but in general, if you study the market well, its features and have a basic understanding of technology, you will see a very interesting and varied custom software development world.
