Like it mate Are you making it with ZBrush or something? The detail is very fine - may be better to do the detail bits with a normal map instead. Looks real good though.

put the detail in the normal map? this coming from the undisputed king of the polycount? ;D ill take that as a compliment though because all the detail is in the normal map, thanks i did use mudbox + photoshop to get the real fine stuff i made a real generic dirt + chipped + cracked texture in ps and used it as a stencil (i think thats what its called in mb im new to it) freaking fabulous tool though mb is...

I can't actually see it very well in those shots mate. What is it you're after? What kind of look/finish do you want?

what? you want me to have an idea of what i want it to look like beforehand? sorry, i forget the posted shots are harder to see than in game. anyway, im gravitating towards almost modern materials, like carbon steel, minimalistic, efficient, used for stealthy killing. so any detail im thinking of would not be over the top, or very bright for that matter. something that adds to the overall look of the weapon, but doesnt draw the users focus away from the main purpose of the item, which is to be a highly functional tool for taking life. does that help?

Yeah - it helps me picture what you want... I could probably work it up myself... but I'm damned if I know how to explain how to achieve that. And no, you're not expected to know beforehand... I often surprise myself with things I've made.

Man its been awhile since my last update! I wish I had more time to assign to this, but as it is I'm going as fast as I can. Anyway, I thought you might like to see the latest texture for this blade: img407.imageshack.us/img407/3866/screenshot17im0.pngAny feedback is welcome!
